several years of just missing out on the play-off places with
an average of around 70 points, Steve Coppell briefed catalyst
saying "we need to find an edge". Just
10 short and exiting months later, Reading FC were promoted
to the Premiership, for the first time in their 135 year history,
as Champions with a record breaking 106 points.
Along the way, the club achieved a 33 game
unbeaten run, Kevin Doyle was awarded the PFA 'Player
of the Year' & Steve Coppell was voted, by his
peers, the League Managers Association 'Manager of
